Product DescriptionWith high-energy showmanship and some seriously good harp playing, The Troublemakers dip deep into the rich musical gumbo of the Gulf Coast to serve up original Cajun rockers, Austin honky-tonk, swamp-a-billy boogie and Texas roadhouse rock. Blues, naturally, are in the mix, too, including the music of Slim Harpo, Otis Rush and Freddie King. Singer, songwriter and master harp player, Rich Layton, a refugee of the Lone Star State, formed the band in 2004. Rich was named one of six Texas Harmonica Tornadoes by the state's leading music magazine, an honor that included such luminaries as Kim Wilson and Delbert McClinton. In 2006 the band played the Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival in Portland, OR, where Rich also took the stage with old friend Buckwheat Zydeco. Other band highlights include opening for The Blasters and for Junior Brown. During the summer of 2008, Rich made guest appearances with Lyle Lovett and His Large Band, honky-tonk hero Dale Watson and returning zydeco legend Stanley 'Buckwheat' Dural.
