Synopsis

Product Description
Have you, a friend or maybe someone you know put huge speakers out a window, cranked up the volume and blasted the music just to tick-off the neighbors? This might sound like an innocent prank, but I guarantee the music selected was intended to make a bold statement. If you could do it today, Comeback Special by The Sleepers would be thee soundtrack to invite cops to visit your home. Some say real rock n roll is on its way back and these Chicago boys agree. They play some lowdown & dirty rock n roll reflecting a time when anthemic choruses, extended guitar solos and a boozy swagger defined the genre. Powerhouse vocalist Tommy Richied leads the way on the hook-filled title track Comeback Special , then Filthy Ways and just never lets up. You ll also hear the incredible gritty guitar attack of Tony Manno & Kevin Bannon tear it up on Loaded , Crime Of The Century Blues , Dirty Cop and any solo they can get their filthy hands on. Oh yeah, every great rock band is only as good as its rhythm section...right? No problem, drummer Johnny Action Fields & bassist Chris Cormier are as tight as AC/DC and groove like The Stones. You ll really hear this dedication on Deal With You , Detroit Ride , Filthy Ways and every dusty-floor stomper that begs for it. After the eye-popping self-release of their first CD Push It Nationwide , The Sleepers loaded themselves with amazing new songs, pounded em out with producer Vince Casamatta & are now ready to climb on that big ol stage.

CD Reviews

Rock and Roll at it's finest....
Michelle I Holman | Chicago | 02/29/2008
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I cannot believe how addicted I am to this album. The tracks on this album are a product of pure rock and roll. I have found myself singing the lyrics to "Filthy Ways" at most times during the day. "Crime of the Century Blues", yeah, that's live track that they put on the album. It's as good as it gets. "Abbey Stone" is gritty goodness. "She is My Drinking Problem", that song's a kicker. Oh, and how can I forget "Dirty Cop". The lead vocals on this album are incredible, the drum and bass are foot stompin' goodness, and the guitar solo's are amazing. The Sleepers have won my musical interest. They remind me a bit of the Rolling Stones and the Black Crowes. They also have some of the same guitar riff's as AC/DC. The Sleepers....tell your neighbors."
