The Portraits are a song writing duo from the British Isles who released their first CD album, Kin, on 6th November 2006, to critical acclaim. The follow-up, Timescape, released in September 2008, is a grander piece in many ways, coloured with beautiful instrumental parts and electronic rhythmic elements. With work on the album completed in Cape Town, South Africa, and mixed by Fuzzy Ratcliffe of Sound And Motion Studios, Timescape has worldy textures that stand it apart from its predecessor, despite the continuing presence of The Portraits trademark layered vocal harmonies, a wall of voices drawing comparisons to Brian Wilson, The Mamas And The Papas and Clannad amongst others.
