Synopsis

Album Description
2008 release featuring these two classic Osmonds albums on one disc, available for the first time on CD. The Osmonds may have existed in one form or another before and after their massive '70s success but this is the first time in over 30 years that their musical legacy can be experienced in full. Original LP artwork is complimented by in-depth liner notes and pictures of many European single sleeves. 24 tracks. 7Ts.

CD Reviews

Great for die-hard Osmond fans

"This double album really brought back memories although the Osmonds were on their way out during the releases of these two, they were really trying to gain some momentum and although some of the tracks are laughable ("walkin in the jungle--) some were really great and the guys show their talent!

Wayne, usually in the background on previous ventures, was given the opportunity to sing lead on a few. My very favorite Osmond song is "Rainin'" and it never got much attention. Sigh...those were the days.

I would recommend it to anyone who ever loved the Osmonds. Especially if you only got the Osmond heyday albums, like Phase III."
Taking a trip back to the good ol' days

"It was tons of fun listening to all these songs again! I only wish all the osmonds songs would be released. There are still some albums that were made after these that I've not seen on CD yet. Let's get those out there for the fans to enjoy guys!!!

I would also love to see the live album "Around the World" on CD!"
GO OSMONDS!

"These are probably two of the better Osmond Brothers albums. Brainstorm is chock full of poppy confections like I Can't Live A Dream, Boogie Down, and Learning How To Love Again. The Osmond written songs always tend to be the best songs on their albums, and here is no exception. Back On The Road Again, Boogie Down, Check It Out and Medicine Man are all really good, each having a somewhat of a different sound.

Steppin Out, produced in part with Maurice Gibb is another winner. You'd think it would be more disco-y than it is, but it is a typical Osmond album. It has no one sound, but is blend of pop (Love Ain't A Easy Thing, which always reminded me of an Elton John song), disco (I,I,I), country (Rest Your Love, Rainin) and rock (Hold On). Vocally, this suffers from not enough Merrill, and too much of the other brothers (Wayne, I am talking to you). Donny had left the group by this time and I question if he was even on Brainstorm, besides in the album cover."
