Synopsis

Album Description
This is Susan Cypher, The Nightbird's first CD. Simply put it contains songs of moonlight and passion influenced by her history of storytelling. Her love of the dark and the silver light of the moon comes through her songs. Magic and moonbeams swirl through your senses caressing them with her silky but clear tones. The Celtic influence comes through in songs like "Demon Lover," which is based loosely on ancient myth but is truly about a living person who haunts your waking and dreaming. Also, as in her second CD, her songs (like "Magpies") tell tales to influence the way we treat others, to teach us kindness while letting us laugh at ourselves and the absurdity of life. Susan plays all the instruments on this CD including: guitar, keyboard, and vocals. (Rick Cosby added part of the thunder sound on Imaging).

"Susan Cypher is a great example of why Independent artisans should be encouraged to continue their craft. Her lyrics bring to mind a time long ago of fair maidens to be rescued (and those who rescue themselves), dragons to be slain, and of travelling minstrals. Susan is just such a minstral. I met her one night in a hotel, and she delighted me with her story. This is my first purchase, but will certainly not be my last. Keep up the great work!"
