CD Reviews

4 1/2 out of 5. An album filled with great music and rythm!

(5 out of 5 stars)

"Crickets is filed with energetic rhythms that are put down by a group of very fine musicians. I believe that this is the The Mudhens finest work to date. Crickets contains heart felt songs such as "Worst Year", fun songs that make you move like "Laredo", and "For a while" contains more than one genre of music in the same song. In my opinion, Crickets does not contain a week song out of the 11 (12 if you count Mary's girl after you let track 11 run for a while) that were cut onto the album. It is hard to totally judge a band until you actually get the opportunity to see them perform. I saw them perform in upstate New York, and they did not dissapoint at all. The crowd was very appreciative of the performance. I also learned that a listener has no idea how good of a guitarist Mike Smith is until you see the Mudhens live. The Mudhens once again prove to me that the best music is being played in bars, clubs, and theatre's and not on the radio (too much good music is not being heard). If you can, I urge you to check The Mudhens out. I have been blessed to see Tom Waits and The Mudhens live in the last 3 weeks.... we should all be that lucky."
Absolutely Excellent!

"For awhile I heard a few of The Mudhens songs on the radio. I fell in love with them the second I heard them. Then I bought their CD. From the time I bought the CD, my admiration for them grew with every time I listened to the CD. That admiration grew even bigger when I saw them in concert. They are truely one special band and I would recommend this CD to anybody. It's one of my favorites."
