Synopsis

Album Description
The Maynard Brothers Band?s debut effort on PacificSol features 14 original Blues, Rock and Ballad compositions that are smokin?. The CD kicks-off with a tasty ?No Devils? and rolls into a hard driving ?What To Do? followed by the liberating lyrics of ?Don?t Call It Love?. ?Baby Don?t Walk Away? is a brilliant Maynard ballad and ?Call the Warden? is slow blues for the purist. ?Redneck Express? rocks you and ?You and I Can Fall in Love? is feel good 50?s. ?She Sold My Monkey? leads into the dark ?Down to the River? that leaves you shivering and ?By and By? kicks it up followed by ?I Want To Be Your Man?. ?Do you Remember When? is another Maynard signature and ?Hung Over Again? has a blues swing that you can?t stop humming. The CD wraps up with the acoustic back-porch bluesy cut ?Better Things To Do? and you?re left wanting to hear more. Do yourself a favor and pop this one in the CD changer and ?Take Your Soul for a Ride?!

CD Reviews

Happiness is Maynard Brothers

"OK, so I'm listening to this band, and I think to myself, "Do I like the blues?". I never thought of myself as a blues listener, per se, but I really like this CD. Did I mention the fact that this CD rocks? Well, let me tell you, this CD rocks. If you're not a blues fan, don't be put off, because there's something in here for everyone. This CD will pick you up, it will bring you down; there's a song for every mood. Am I being too complimentary? I can't help it-I love this CD. You will, too. Try it, you'll love it for good!"

"This trio is simply unbelievable. Betwixt the fun, smart, and sometimes touching lyrics, there is a kickin' backbeat and some truly smokin' guitar action. Can I stop listening to it? Nope. Rarely does a band come along whose sound you can pre-funk to before going out, as well as put on low to rock your baby to sleep. I am truly impressed with this eclectic and well-stated debut album from an amazing band that I hope to be hearing from for a long long time to come. Check out the soothing yet melancholy lyrical sound of Call the Warden, and the infinitely clever Hung Over Again. This album refuses to disappoint."
