Olympia/Portland's the Intima mine the rich history of punk and come up with an amalgam of early 80's British/Dutch political bands and post-hardcore experimentation. Sharing the nervous enery of the Ex, Gang of Four and early Mekons, this four-piece also bends towards the genre-tweak of contemporaries such as Unwound, Blonde Redhead, and GogogoAirheart. But the Intima strive to do their own thing and "No Lullaby for Sleep" is testament to moving beyond a list of influences. Recording at the legendary AVAST studio in Seattle, the Intima have crafted an EP rife with tension, violin stabs, social acuity, and broken toys.
