To the Listener-

This is not suppose to happen. It's not suppose to be this good.
I mean, you're not supposed to be able to bring together 30 people from Central Ohio...most of whom had never met, and many of whom have day jobs other than singing and playing music...hand them a dozen songs...and end up with something this wonderful!

When Neal Havener and I sat down to discuss this project in October of 1996, we were excited by the challenge of venturing into this new territory (a project album, as opposed to a band or an individual artist). Throughout the recording sessions, Neal could be heard referring to the process as "makin' stew". There were delays and setbacks, of course, but time and again we experienced "moments of epiphany" as well... when our jaws would drop open as we heard things coming together...far exceeding our expectations (Neal even broke out dancing a few times!).

I can't say enough about the musicians...who brought not only their prodigious talents to the sessions, but also their great attitudes.

And then there were the guys in the trenches...the engineers and editors...Michael Moore, Doug McLaughlin, Joe Keiser, Dave Cary and Tom Boyer... who took such pains to capture and shape the sound.

I'm extremely grateful to all who helped bring this dream to life... Thank You!!

Finally, it's been said that there is but one Greatest Love Story Of All Time and that all others are just weak derivatives. That's the spirit behind this project -- and it's my deepest hope that, as you listen, that one Story will find resonance in your heart.
