CD Reviews

If it's The Doors, it's 5 stars!

"Since The Doors are on this CD, it has to have a 5 star rating. This CD takes songs from a few different Doors CDs, most being the more popular Doors songs you hear on the radio. The addition of 'Love Street' was very fitting and welcome. As well, some of Jim's spoken word that was put to music after his death (as featured on An American Prayer) is here. The Velvet Underground gives us 'Heroin'; a great song; very ominous given the context that it appears on this CD. The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and Chorus perform the haunting 'Carmina Burana'. This is a good CD, but the facts are that you are not going to get any unreleased material on this disc. You can collect all of The Doors' CDs and Jim's An American Prayer and have most of the songs that appear here. Velvet Underground and Carmina Burana are the exceptions. It's still a good disc, but maybe you should buy other Doors CDs first.Excuse me while I go light a few more incense sticks for the Jim shrine..."
The music is about to begin...

"Great soundtrack to a good movie. This really serves as a basic "best of" with a few extra's. Half of this is the big songs you would expect, but what I like is the inclusion of "love street", and 3 tracks from the "American Prayer" album: "ghost song", "stoned immaculate", and "the severed garden". Plus you have the Velvet Underground track "heroin", and Carmina Burana. Also a cool little clip from the movie starts it all off. Why this is an import now I don't know. I guess all the Doors hype of the early 90's is long past. It was fun while it lasted. At least we'll always have the music."
Great soundtrack for a great movie
