Synopsis

Album Description
"love, delusion, and other things?", the third album by the dambrots, is their most ambitious to date. Never content to stand still, this album finds the band moving in new musical directions. Reuniting with producer Eric Rachel, who captured their dreamy, haunting sound so well on the duo?s first two recordings; this time the dambrots have tastefully overdubbed multiple parts to create a layered composition - a song cycle that draws on such diverse influences as Suzanne Vega, Simon and Garfunkle, Tori Amos, The Byrds, and Fleetwood Mac. Stylistically the album swings effortlessly from countrified folk rock ("the stairs"), to upbeat acoustic pop ("this time tomorrow"), straight folk arrangements ("lost in your face for hours") and the charming flapper-style, ukulele-driven duet of the closing track "walk down any avenue." The album?s centerpiece, "and i dreamed i saw it on route 46", is a piano/voice pop masterwork highlighting dawn marie?s powerful vocal performance. the dambrots have managed to approach all of their albums with a different acoustic instrumental direction, and to defy expectations. Committing to create eight albums tied to the colors of their logo, ?love, delusion, and other things...,? is the dambrots? ?orange album,? and their best work so far.
