Album Description In their second album, "Spice it Up", The Crawdaddies continue to develop their unique mix of zydeco-swing, rock 'n soul -- another phase of ongoing experimentation with the brave combination of the accordion and the electric guitar. New songs on the album include "Diggin' On Down", a happy song about dying in a coal mine; "Gimme Some" about a poor boy who would be happier as a millionaire; "The Difference" a fast pickin' runaway "country freight train" about a lover's quarrel; and the zydeco party tune "Swamp Music" where, get this, the accordion plays the syncopated horn lines. I'm not heavy into zydeco or cajun music but this one knocked me out. It isn't your typical swamp music, this rocks and leaves you wanting more. Some of the songs just end too soon, I'll bet they are great live where there is room for some extended jams. Buy this CD, put on your gator stomp'n boots and PARTY!!!" |
