CD Reviews

Another quality album from the Souls...
J. W. Hancher | Philadelphia, PA | 11/08/2006
(4 out of 5 stars)

"The Bouncing Souls always put out quality work and the Gold Record doesn't fail to live up to their rep. I really like a number of their tracks that clearly standout on this one. The overall recording sounds much better than the last. Still, I don't think this album outdoes some of their finest (and earlier) work such as the self-titled album or the classic Maniacal Laughter. As a Philly native, the Souls never cease to amaze me every time they come through town or whenever they put out their latest line of work. You've got to give these boys props- they know how to rock."
The Bouncing Souls Bounce High with this One
Diane Mcgough | Lake Oswego, OR | 01/29/2010
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Many fans are excited that the Bouncing Souls are back with 12 new energetic songs on "The Gold Record." They have been one of the bands paving the way for puck rock for nearly the last fifteen years with their DIY rock antics. Now after three years the Bouncing Souls return to out do themselves with this more musically diverse release. The lead off track, "The Gold Song" is a traditional punk rock song, but track after track the sound changes to a more diverse sound with a trumpet solo in "The Pizza Song" and even a song that is only harmonies ("The Messenger").

With the first listen Bouncing Soul Fans may be taken aback, but after listening to the album a few times they'll find, as I did, that "The Gold Record" fills a gap perfectly for the band's career."

"This album realy grew on me.The souls tried some new insterments out and they sound awsome. You just gotta have an open mind and just think of how fun it would be to be a part of something. And thats probably what happened. They just had some friends be a part of the GOLD record. To me that is way cool. The pizza song is a really cool song, its fun sounding."
