Synopsis

Album Description
THE BEAST Progressive bands of the 70's meet Captain Beefheart with a touch of The Andrew Sisters and Stravinsky thrown in for good measure. Filled with satire, THE BEAST is a remedy for all that ails modern music. For seven years THE BEAST has lurked in the shadows, laboriously concocting its multi-instrumental and ground-damaging work of art. The alchemy has been achieved through the creation of "The Time of All Things" (APG Records). Preferring to remain anonymous, the band members are a part of the movement called Music Heard, not Scene which focuses not on the people in the band, but rather the music and artwork that surround it. On one track, the band twists up a rendition of the Grateful Dead's "The Golden Road to Unlimited Devotion" that is sure to appeal to THE BEAST within you. Think cerebral, think challenging, and wait for THE BEAST to roar.

(4 out of 5 stars)

"I stumbled across this disc, and was curious of a 'Zappa smell' emanating from a certain song title in the list and decided to give it a shot. As a lifelong Zappaphile, I can tell you we are still living in a world of hope. New artists of a younger generation feel compelled to do homage to a man who died too young. This group have studied the Master well, and definitely a KEEPER in my collection! I wonder if they've recorded other discs? Hmmmmm. Methinks I better get on Goggle & look 'em up..."
