Grow is the latest release from the Basics and includes 13 original songs, and the drumming of Dale Baker, formerly with Sixpence None the Richer, the vocals and guitars of North Carolina producer/singer/songwriter Mark Williams, the co-writing talents of singer/songwriter Jason Harrod, and the colaborative efforts of producer/singer/songwriter Rob Seals. Grow was produced and recorded by Wade Baynham, and was mastered by Brent Lambert, at Kitchen Mastering, Carrboro, NC. Grow is the creative fulfillment of several years of ongoing work as Kelly and Wade wrote and recorded during breaks from their schedule producing/recording with other artists at their studio, the Second Story, in Durham, NC. Grow has a mature sound, reminiscent of the likes of Sheryl Crow and U2; it's a lot of fun, with a pop undercurrent and interesting hooks, but it isn't lacking in depth or creativity. This disc will grab you on the first as well as the 20th spin.
