Though classified under 'spoken word,' this is not a dualist conception on the order of, say, Ferlinghetti or Patchen reading with the accompaniment of a jazz combo; these pieces are conceived as integrated entities -- think of them as songs. At once tighter and looser than on their first CD ('Solitaire You Own the World'), the Apes approach this one with more confidence and gravitas.
