Synopsis

Product Description
Texas Boys Choirs (TBC) mission is to be a world-class boychoir, to develop personal excellence and to inspire a lifelong passion for choral artistry. Since its founding in 1946, TBC has toured regularly, both nationally and abroad, performing for significant world leaders, as well as thousands of listeners via concerts and appearances on National Television and radio broadcasts. The two-time Grammy© Award-winning choir has produced more than 40 professional recordings with Columbia, Decca, Mark Masters and other independent labels. S. Bryan Priddy began his tenure as Artistic Director of Texas Boys Choir in August of 2008. He holds music degrees from Georgia State University. The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and the Eastman School of Music. Under his leadership, TBC has recorded six new albums. Past and future invitations for the choir to perform include: 2013 National ACDA, 2013 TCDA, 2013 Southwest ACDA, 2017 National ACDA, and 2018 National OAKE. Christmas Voices is the second of four new audio recordings to be released as a result of a recent five-year recording effort called the Legacy Project. Underwritten by a generous grant from the Jill & Charles Fischer Foundation, the Legacy Projects purpose is to make possible high-caliber recordings of music suited for boys voices and performed by the Texas Boys Choir, often accompanied by highly-skilled instrumentalists from Texas Camerata and the Fort Worth and Dallas Symphony Orchestras. Musical genres from Chant to Modern music are included, with special emphasis on Baroque works and excerpts using period instruments, at Baroque pitch, and with boy soloists.
