CD Reviews

Gorgeous, Moving, and Sexy!

"
We opened the cd, put it on, and this rich wonderful voice filled the room with the most nuanced and simply rich version of Eleanor Rigby. My 2 year old started to dance, we both danced, and then we couldn't stop listening, smiling and dancing. There are many different kinds of songs and I"m no jazz expert but I listen to jazz I lot and what I hear is a silky powerful creative voice with a lot of intelligence and life behind it, obviously coming from someone who makes smart and original song choices. I wanted to be in a dark jazz bar, mesmerized in person. Instead I just keep playing the cd, which feeds my moods oddly at all times of day. Maybe I'm becoming obsessed."

"I am lucky to have heard Tessa Souter perform many times in person, and I urge anyone within walking, crawling, driving or flying range to see her live. Between gigs, it's wonderful to have her beautifully mixed CDs to listen to--her rich voice is bewitching, the lyrics and arrangements of her own songs are moving and intelligent, and her covers of songs you think you know will make you think of them in a whole new light: White Room, Eleanor Rigby, Fragile--gorgeous stuff. If you love jazz vocalists then you owe it to yourself to add Tessa to your playlist!"
... the third jewel ...

"When I want to go to that special place where everything is alright, I'll play one of Tessa's albums. "Obsession" has not disappointed. Her unique voice, immensely talented team, arranged selections and new creations have combined to complete the third jewel of the "triple crown" - her third album - "Obsession". I have to say that I am biased. I just love the way her music makes me feel. The only negative is that I have to open my eyes and return to reality."
