"Guitarist, Producer, Bluesicologist Terry Robb has cranked out a gem of a new record. Not only is his playing amazing, the recording itself is lush and clear. A guitarist of his level has no need to hide behind studio tricks. In a world of overproduced computerized, pro tooled recordings, When I play my blues guitar is organic and true to it's roots. Terry Robb is a true steward of acoustic blues and one of the very few guys that can tear it up on acoustic and electric guitar. This is not a record for guitar fans only. Terry Robb is one of a very small group of top blues artists in the country today. Terry ranks with the greats like, Rory Block, Woody Mann, Roy Bookbinder, Steve James, Ry Cooder and a small handfull more."
Acoustic Blues At its Finest

"Terry Robb, long time fixture on the Northwest blues scene, has released his best recording to date. "When I Play My Blues Guitar" showcases one of the worlds finest fingerstyle acoustic blues players at the peak of his powers. Also produced by Robb, this CD is clearly a labour of love; all acoustic, all solo, no effects, no dubs(all too rare in todays music world), the tunes are about 1/2 originals, 1/2 covers, all superbly clean guitar work. The influences of the likes of Rev. Gary Davis, Blind Blake, John Hurt, & (especially) John Fahey are obvious. Robb was a close friend of Fahey, and producer of much of his later work. The CD will be a valuable resource to student/player of this genre, and just plain good listening to anyone who appreciates good guitar music."
