Great jazz trio!!!

"Blue In Green is great jazz trio playing! This trio has a sound like no other jazz trio. The performances are inspired. The bowed bass playing is like no other in recorded jazz.

A MUST for any jazz enthusiast's collection!

"When was the last time you heard the double bass as the lead instrument? This album features the bass as you've never heard it sound. It's only at the hands of master bowing artist Terry Plumeri that you finally understand and appreciate this instrument's capabilities! The selection of jazz standards was brilliant...each tune is fresh due to the artistry of Plumeri, Joe LaBarbera (drums) and David Goldblatt (piano). There isn't a tune on this album that shouldn't be here. This is not an album you'll listen to once and put on the shelf. It's a great journey in a wonderful mood. A pleasure for your ears and your mind."

"Many times I have heard these standard jazz tunes played by others, in both instrumental and with vocal accompaniment; but, Terry Plumeri's bowed bass on this compilation cd truly awoken something within me. This milestone cd, Blue In Green, is one to be recognized as a classic addition to any jazz library.

If you purchased a cd of John Coltrane, you would expect to hear the saxophone featured throughout each selected piece and the same with Miles Davis's trumpet on his cd's. Blue In Green is a historic cd that features Terry Plumeri's bowed bass with an enrapturing stylization unique and unto itself making each song whole and becomes a sound like you have never heard nor experienced before.

In the title song, Blue In Green, David Goldblatt's piano first transports you and then sets an arpeggio pace within your pulse. When the vibrato of Terry Plumeri's bowed bass begins, it infiltrates you as a quiver upon your physical senses just as Joe La Barbera begins his softly set rhythmic background beat. The voice of the bowed bass caresses you gently, never setting you down nor letting you go, and then sweetly segue's back to the piano's lead touch as the emphasis upon the bass becomes delightfully supportive in pizzicato stylization. If ecstasy came from music alone, it would most certainly be from this piece.

Beginning with "Beautiful Love" you will find a cohesive dialogue within the expressions created by Terry Plumeri's innovative bowed bass providing a suppleness that one would never have experienced before in this most alluring classic tune. Autumn Leaves, Gentle Rain, Dolphin Dance, Corcovado, Footprints and 'Round Midnight are each baptized by a flowing bowed bass as if it were the first time you have ever heard them, they are reborn. These same musical pieces have embraced me many times before, but not like this."
