CD Reviews

Simply amazing!!!

"I was browsing an R&B site that mentioned how your CD was a classic back in the day. As soon as I heard a sample cut from this CD, I had to get it. WOW! She is such a beautiful girl with an amazing voice. Her songs are fresh and so original with their own style. Some of the reviewers were right. Your marketing team did a very poor job on making you known on the air waves. My favorite jams from this cd is "I Don't Need You", "Alone" & "I'm The One For You." 10/10 in my books. Its hot!! For those looking for some solid R&B jams, Terry Dexter is an artist you should consider!"
An Amazing Album!! Terry Come Back!!

"I finally got this cd a week ago and I have already heard it at least 7 times all the way through. I remember when she came out with her single "Better Than Me" and I knew she was going to be something big. The whole album is great from start to end. I think the songs that stand out the most are tracks 1,3,and 6. The music industry has to be so crazy for letting this amazing voice go along with many others. Its like they get rid of the ones that have talent and keep the ones that need to be in a cartoon show or something. Terry Dexter has a great voice and is very talented. I hope she comes out with another album soon. If you dont have this one, get is really soon while it's available."
Terry Dexter - actually 4.5 stars

"What a beautiful voice, what an excellent album....what a shame that she never got a chance to produce a second. I agree with a comment made by a previous poster that it's such a shame that real singers like Terry, Simone Hines, Puff Johnson, Tamar Braxton, etc were only given one shot in the industry then disappeared.

This is an excellent debut album and for the life of me I can't remember why I was so tuned out to modern music during the years 1998 - 2000 because I'd never heard of Terry till I saw her on an episode of Patti LaBelle's lifestyle show. Terry was working on vocal production with Patti for one of her recent albums and after Patti spoke about Terry's debut album and hearing Terry sing a little on the show I was curious enough to get a copy of this album.

I gave it 4.5 stars because I love her vocals on 10 songs (the only song I hate is track 10) & because she did a good deal of writing on the album. I like the songs and found the production on a couple of songs to be really interesting; the producers didn't use a lot of gimmicks on the song production which gives each song a timeless feel - I don't feel like the songs tried to copy whatever was hot during that era.

It's a shame that she didn't get the promotion that she deserved at that time nor a second chance to shine. I'd highly recommend this disc to r&b lovers who missed out on hearing this singer back in 1999/2000."
