Synopsis

Product Description
Terri Templeton has been performing professionally since the age of 16, as musician, singer, songwriter, and actress. Over the years, Terri has been associated with the Cincinnati band Over the Rhine, has toured extensively with them throughout North America and Europe, and has developed a loyal and dedicated following among not only her fellow artists, but among fans who appreciate the poetry of her performances. She can be heard on the group's Virgin/Back Porch release, Films for Radio. Terri has worked with a wide variety of other artists, including Canadian favorites Cowboy Junkies, solo guitarist/singer/songwriter Michelle Malone, visual artist and performer Jay Bolotin, experimental bassist/composer Chris Dahlgren, and Shawn Womack Dance Projects. Her song Walk With Me is featured on the soundtrack of the HBO and Cinemax feature film Mixing Nia, by NYC filmmaker/director director Alison Swan. In the company of Robyn Hitchcock, The Figgs, and several other artists, you can hear Terri sing her song Eyes, set to a text by poet Ernest Noyes Brookings, on the newest Duplex Planet release, Ernie: Songs of Ernest Noyes Brookings, compiled by artist and journalist David Greenberger. Merry Go Round is her debut solo CD project, featuring the songs of Over the Rhine's Jack Henderson. Produced by Jack Henderson, Merry Go Round features masterful instrumental work by Jack, and includes the contributions of bassist Chris Donohue and keyboard guru Rich Causon. An album devoted entirely to the music of Jack Henderson, these songs, rich in experience and ripe with the feeling of innocence lost and hope regained, approach the realm of the contemporary American art song (David Greenberger, NPR). These songs have been expressly arranged for Terri; some of them recorded and presented here for the first time anywhere.
