CD Reviews

The Best Of Ten Years After - Remastered!
highway_star | Hallandale, Florida United States | 02/23/2002
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This is the most concise collection of 10 Years After hits that I've heard. There are all the hits such as "I'm Goin Home", "Love like a Man", "I'd LOve To Change The World", "Good Morning Little Schoolgirl", etc. You also get some great songs from the various l.p.'s "Sssh", "Cricklewood Green", "Watt", "A Space In Time", etc. But the best thing about this collection is the sound. The remastering is excellent and far surpasses the "Essential Ten Years After" collection that was released in the U.S. back in the early 90's. This is the only collection you'll ever need! Highly recommeded!"
Most PretentiousTitle Ever....

"Ten Years After "Recorded Live" is the best Ten Years After album ever (personally, I do not consider compilation albums real "albums"). It is impossible to appreciate Ten Years After's songs to the fullest without hearing them within the context of the original albums. Buying every Ten Years After album, however, is obviously not cost effective for the casual fan, so the compilation "albums" are the next best thing. That being said this title might be the best "one" disc compilation, but the "Anthology 1967-1971" 2 cd set on Hip-O label blows this single disc release away.
My advice is to shell out the extra cash on the Hip-O set and pass on this one. Once you get hooked on Alvin Lee's wizardry on the electric guitar, get "Recorded Live" for your next Ten Years After purchase."
