Album Description
"Steps Taken" is Ted Hogarth's debut CD as a leader. The five original compositions included show his love for all styles of jazz, from tradional swing to Afro-Cuban. The remaining pieces are Ted's arrangements of some of his favorite classic jazz standards. His quartet of Neal Alger on guitar, Tom Knific on bass, and Darren Scorza on drums is his primary vehicle for composition and improvisation. The duos with Tom Knific and special guest pianist Kevin Cole reveal Ted's deep love for melody and musical communication.
