Synopsis

Album Description
Two CD set packed with hits, rarities and album tracks from the '80s duo. The complex pop of Tears For Fears provided an antidote to the excesses of the UK and US hit parades in the middle '80s. Their dark, brooding nature and boundlessly catchy material made the West Country duo some kind of anti-Wham! Their success was enormous, spreading to America where they were to enjoy two No.1 singles and a chart-topping album!. 35 tracks including 'Change', 'Mad World', 'Sowing The Seeds Of Love', 'Shout', 'Everybody Wants To Rule The World' and many more. Spectrum.

ANOTHER COMPILATION!
Boy from the 80's | PASIG CITY Philippines | 09/25/2007
(4 out of 5 stars)

"and yet, another compilation form the quintessential british band tears for fears. i still rate this album four stars for its content. but for someone like me who has bought the "better" compilation earlier, this is nothing but an excess for a true TFF fan.

buy it: if you have no TFF collection yet. this would serve as your ultimate collection as of date.

avoid it: if you have already collected previous releases such as the digitally remastered first three albums (the hurting, songs from the big chair, sowing the seeds of love), their first b-sides collection (saturnine, martial and lunatic), roland's solo album (elemental; under the name of TFF), curt's solo (soul on board), and the recently released "songs from the big chair - deluxe edition" for additional rariies and 12" remixes!

clearly, you already have all the tracks for this latest compilation (with the exemption of "ghost papa") with the hit "pale shelter" missing. all i mentioned above were "digitially remastered," thus, assuring the customer of clear sonic sound.

i guess my favorite band has been spreading themselves too thin lately, releasing compilation year after year since 2002's japan-only compilation "the best remixes."

i still recommend it, if only for the content, and because it's still true TFF fashion. but if you already have all, no need to buy this.

on dvd, i also recommend "scenes from the big chair."

TFF will always be one of the best bands to come out in the 80's. i am glad they are still here."
TFF Hits & Rare Tracks
David D. McFarland | Oceanside, California United States | 06/28/2007
(4 out of 5 stars)

"I give it 4 stars because it contains more "B" sides then hits, I would recommend the "Gold" album first & this one second. For some odd reason they left off "Pale shelter". They might have been wise to put that one on either in its original 7" format (which is far different then any album version) or deleted a few "B" sides & added a few more great album tracks. Nevertheless, it is a nice package & could have used a third disc & liner notes with more information on ALL the tracks. Search "Judemac Forever" on msn."
Don't miss the only chance you can get the two rare tracks!!
Zhu Ming | Beijing, China | 05/26/2008
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This is a compilation for die-hard TFF fans only and not for beginners. I'll give it a 5, 10 whatever stars for the two rare tracks that you can only find here: "Ghost Papa" and "We Are Broken" (besides that you're confident to find their reissue singles as Women in Chains and Pale Shelter)

If you're looking for a "greatest single hits" box, this might not serve your needs. But if you've got everything (albums, remixes, b-sides...) This IS the missing piece for your collection."
