CD Reviews

Who the crooner is

"The Italian crooner music NOT contained on the CD is available on the CD Alberto Rabaagliati in the series Le grandi voci della canzone italiana. One of the prominent crooner songs in the movie seems to be his recording of Mattinata Fiorentina."
Absolutely Beautiful!

"When I saw the movie, I kept thinking... "I NEED to get this soundtrack!"... this was because of the emotional scene where Elsa is pushed away from the dock, never to be seen again. The surge here is absoultely amazing! I showed it to a friend, and she cried while wiping the floor with a mop!!! She said "It just touched me..."... the entire soundtrack, while centered around 1 or 2 main themes, is so smooth and beautiful that it doesn't matter! Best tracks are the opening and ending... also "No Tea". Thrilling, rolling score!PS. Does NOT include the little tune performed by Cher, OR any of the 30's/40's crooners...."

"A little seen gem of 1999 that is easily one of the best films i saw last year. Alessio Vlad and Stefano Arnaldi easily rise up to the challange of scoring a movie like this without making it sound like every other score like this. Although it never rises above a few surges it is very well done none the less. The rest is played in quite underscore which makes for a peaceful listening experience. What i am glad about is that the producers didn't include Cher's little sinpet for any commercial value. But what i am dissapointed is that they didn't include the italian ballads that really captured the spirit in the film. Great soundtrack. My favorite tracks are Goodbye ladies & Goodbye Elsa"
