Remastering is Fantastic!

"The compilation starts off with "Tell It To My Heart." What a difference the remastering makes! I turned this one up on my stereo and could actually feel the bass and beats of the song. It sounds crisp and clear - the way it was meant to sound! The main reason I bought this album was for the digital remastering. Now if only Arista would reissue her other albums, including the Greatest Hits, digitally remastered. There are a few hits missing here, notably "With Every Beat Of My Heart" and "Can't Get Enough Of Your Love." But that's okay since there are a few other songs that stand out as well, namely "Original Sin" which I hadn't heard prior to buying this collection. It was actually a single back in 1994 from 'The Shadow' movie and soundtrack yet went unnoticed. It was produced by Jim Steinman, who has produced numerous hits for Bonnie Tyler and Meatloaf. 12 tracks? Apparently Arista is limiting all their "Platinum & Gold Collections" to 12 tracks. I guess that's fair for the remastering and the price. But I see no reason why they couldn't have included more or at least release the albums from which these songs are pulled in remastered format for all their acts. (I guess I'm the only one who is really into remastered music!) I've always thought that my "Soul Dancing" CD had a glitch in "I'll Wait" with a slight break right before the beat kicks in, yet it's found here as well. So it must be part of the original recording. However, I didn't really notice any difference in this track being "digitally remastered." But perhaps that's just the overall production. The track also fades slightly earlier than the original "Soul Dancing" version (must be the "radio edit"). In any case, it's one of my favorite tracks and I'm glad the album version made the cut this time around rather than the poor dance mix on her "Greatest Hits." Overall, it's a fantastic collection if you want most of the hits remastered."
Blah!!!!!!

"Taylor Dayne is a wonderful musician, beautiful voice. But this new remastered album of 'some' of her greatest hits is just 'blah.' Sure, a remastered album of an artists greatest hits is the best thing to have, but why aren't all her best songs on here? Missing are 'With Every Beat of my Heart', 'Say A Little Prayer', and all her hits from the album Naked without You. If you have a greatest remastered hits album, have ALL her hits, not just some of them."
Missing Her Best Song!!!!

"This offers a nice amount of Taylor Dayne's hits. It has "Tell It To My Heart," "Love Will Lead You Back," "Don't Rush Me," etc. all of which Ms. Dayne is most known for, yet it neglects my favorite song by her "With Every Beat of My Heart" which was one of her biggest hits too. MAJOR downer, but if you can live without that song, I guess it would be a hood buy. The original "I'll Wait" is included which is much better than the horrible remix that was put on her official GH's. Still, I would pass this up and just buy her "Greatest Hits" collection. It's an excellent buy!"
