Oakland based singer-songwriter Tanya Pluth makes her independent debut with the CD, "Saving Graces." From the title track's lyrical sincerity, "This world is full of hiding places, lost souls and saving graces," to the last track's playful call to celebrate the hard places in life, "Arrive late and overdressed, coast in on an empty tank," this debut CD makes no promises it doesn't keep. Infused with guitar stylings reminiscent of Dar Williams, Tracy Chapman, and Eliza Gilkyson, her songs are four parts country, six parts folk, two parts rock, adding up to music that moves, shakes and comforts.
