Thank God its over

"Finally, the Dante project of Edgar Froese has come to an end. Paradiso is the final set of disks to this project and I would not call it a Tangerine Dream album. It is an Edgar Froese album, pure and simple. Jerome is not on the disk and he is SORELY missing. This album lasts an eternity and rarely has any spark, fire, or energetic emotion. I can see why Jerome wanted no part to this debacle. He did not appear at any of the performances of Paradiso.

There are a couple of good tracks on Paradiso but the incredible lenghth of this album (2+ hours!) will mean that it hardly ever gets listened to.

The synths that are so characteristic of Tangerine Dream are virtually absent as there is an orchestra that are the main performers. I really would not have guess that this was Tangerine Dream had I not known in advance.

Hopefully, they can recover from this and regroup with Jerome to produce something better."
Overlong yet often hauntingly beautiful ambitious work.

"First off if you hated the opera style vocals of Inferno and Purgatorio you won't like this concluding disc either.Second of all if you're a fan of classic Tangerine Dream music like Phadera you probably won't like the idea of an orchestra and singers.Third of all if you only have time to listen to this in bits and pieces it severely dillutes its spellbinding effect. If however you,ve stuck with this everchanging group throughout the years as they branched out in different directions this is a satisfying new direction though admitedly not to everyone's taste.Six singers,an orchestra(the orchestra parts are actually toned down from the live performance)flesh out Edgar Froese's surrreal compositions based on Dante.Don't expect the excitement of Jeanne D'arc but just enjoy this long gorgous aural journey that even non opera lovers may appreciate.Traditional TD fans should seek out the new 3 track cd Roadmap 40 years of music. Those who appreciate this group trying new approaches to music shouldn't pass this up though."
Paradiso Is An Edgar Froese Gem

"Dante's Paradiso is a complete gem put together by the multitalented and musically eclectic Edgar Froese. He has always been the mastermind and musical wizard behind Tangerine Dream. Paradiso resonates with operatic vocals and poignant music. It is just as good as Tangerine Dream's dynamic Inferno CD. Edgar Froese has composed experimental, techno, new age, ambient, rock, classical and musical soundtracks of the utmost quality. He plays myriad keyboard instruments and stellar guitar. Froese is a mysical and spiritual composer. He is also a pacifist vegetarian who writes and composes music about universal peace in a very profound way. Paradiso will mesmerize you and musically fortify you. A very creative undertaking."
