Through a variety of musical mediums ranging from solo voice to the layering of acoustic and digital instrumentation, Rossi succeeds in creating powerful imagery sprinkled with a whimsical personality. The music is divided into four distinct groups, each voicing a different aspect of the North. TAKE ME NORTH is a suite based on the Minnesota state symbols. CREATURE VOICES is a six-piece a cappella suite from the "creature's" point of view. NATURE PASSION POEMS is a playful, yet soulful song-cycle. STATE FAIR SUITE, commissioned by MPR, takes you into the heart of state fair experience.
