"I just bought this CD today--I am already a big fan of Albinoni, being an owner of the opus 5, 7, 9, and 10 sets of concerti. The sonatas in this collection particuarly are lovingly written and very tender in expression. It is with Albinoni that we see for the first time "modern" sentiment in string writing--although Corelli helped develop it--moving away from the stateliness of composers such as Torelli and Alessandro Scarlatti. Bravo to the Insieme Srumentale di Roma and Sasso for their sensitive and precise playing of period instruments!"
