CD ReviewsRestoring dignity 01/04/2000 (5 out of 5 stars) "I have often felt like the Finale of the Brahms Violin Concerto didn't fit the rest of the work. It was a cute ditty , a bon bon for the Hungarian violinist Joachim. In this recording Szigeti makes it right and restores its dignity. It's still Hungarian but he makes it fit. He starts in the first measure with absolutely correct rhythm and stresses and just builds from there. I consider this a must have for all who love and admire the Brahms Violin Concerto and a restorative for any who, like me, were put off by most of the careless modern performances."
