Synopsis

Album Description
This is the debut CD single by the Italian synthpop / futurepop / dance band Syrian. This band likes to play a conbination of edgy dance music similar to acts like VNV Nation or Apoptygma Berzerk, but with futuristic and sci-fi lyrical themes and a melodic synthpop vocal approach (think of bands like De/Vision or Beborn Beton).

My Favorite Single This Year!

"How can I describe this single?Wow. I was sent it to play at the DJ events I spin, and out of all of the CD's I have been sent in the past few years, this single blew me away the most.Perhaps because it completely encompasses everything I have been personally going through the past 8 months, the title track "No Atmosphere" touches me in a way as nothing else has in ages. "I'm alone against my useless tears, forever and ever again." I've literally spent many hours a day dancing around to this song in my living room, and yes, being brought to tears by how poignant it all is.Which brings me to the music that is behind those lyrics. Completely energizing, pounding, and pumping, it definitely gets you in the mood to dance and/or go out for a long night of flailing around in your local nightclub (if you are lucky enough to know a place that would play this band's music!). Loosely I would use the term "electro" to describe the harder beats in this track.Out of the other songs on this single, I would say I prefer "Vega Velocity" over "Flowers Fade" (the B-side). "Vega Velocity" reminds me a lot of S.P.O.C.K.!Overall though I am completely partial to "No Atmosphere" as said above, and I recommend the Single Edit and/or the Extended Club Mix (I don't care particularly for the other remixes - just not heavy enough for me!). The Extended Club Mix is brilliant because it extends "No Atmosphere" in all its glory and allows you to dance longer! To wrap up, "No Atmosphere" brings me both the ecstasies of extreme joy and extreme sadness. I think it is rare when a song can make you feel both ways - with such marked emotions.Get it now, raise your arms toward the sky and start dancing. This is music to envelop and take you away."
