Synopsis

Album Description
2009 UK collection from the Disco icon. In the heady days of Studio 54 and other nightclubs, as long as the slinky Euro-rhythms kept pumping, the night would never get tired of Donna Summer, Grace Jones and Sylvester. Signed to Fantasy in 1977, Sylvester came out of the closet with the advanced, snaky synthesizer parts that kicked "You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real)" and "Dance (Disco Heat)" into the Top 40. Thanks to 'You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real)' being featured in the soundtrack to Sean Penn's multi-award winning film Milk, Sylvester has enjoyed another day in the sun and this new compilation is the perfect release for fans and novices alike! 11 tracks. Universal.

"good presentation of earlier work. 2 problems; variable sound quality on a few songs and bad edit on Sell My Soul (that was one of my favorite songs by him).It would have been nice to have the 12" version of that."
DISCO'S MOST FABULOUS MOMENT!

"This guy was the first lady of gay disco. This dude could make your heart pulse and throb without even trying. We lived in tiny town's back in the 70's. All the songs on this CD were blaring from every open window in the gayest parts of towne in the 70's. It was a real party time with the strong beat and wild party lyrics we freaked from night till dawn and beyond to the sweet sounds of Miss Sylvester! Hearing this CD brings it all back like it was just yesterday. Hearing Sylvester is the next best thing to a time machine.

I love every song on this CD. This CD is a trip down the gay disco in its most fabulous and firey best! Rau Paul and the Village People took notes but Miss Sylvester was the one the only the Greatest! She rules rocks and rolls!"
