"I generally judge a CD by the length of time it spends in my CD changer. This one's been in there since the night I got it, and I don't see it geting bumped out anytime soon. One of those albums that you can listen to over and over, and never have to listen to a weak track.
I can't really compare it to anything, because it draws from so many influences. Certainly well within the realm of "alternative country". Lots of traditional Irish (the rowdy pub variety). Bluegrass perhaps. Maybe even a touch of pop, but I mean that in a good way... You can dance to it. Mississippi Blues? A little Cajun maybe? You'll hear dueling guitars, accordion, dobro, steel guitar, and an incredible electric cello. The best mandolin playing I can remember. Heck, I don't know what it is. It's just very good, and quite refreshing.
This is a complete album. Well produced and focused. Life, Love, loss, and the stuff that baffles us in between. Get it, and if you figure out what to call it, let me know.-Chris"
