CD Reviews

Two great classical pieces with rap.

"I would like to correct something to my review. The hit "Everything's gonna be alright" is based on Bach's Air on a G String and not on the Pachelbel Canon.
Secondly, the "Don't go away" song is based on Mahler's Adagietto from Symphony no. 5 in C Sharp Minor."
Everything is Gonna be alright as long as you have this cd

"This album is one the greatest albums that I have heard in a long time. I think that it is truly amazing the way that Sweetbox combine rap lyrics with Classical music, such as the Intro in the song "Don't Go Away", and "Everything's gonna be alright."If you are into rap music, but love ballads as well, you will love this album. Be sure to buy it if you don't already have it, and while you are at it, Pick up a copy of Ace of Base's album "Flowers.""

"I discovered Sweetbox on a compilation dance cd and picked up the album from the local library branch. I find that in addition to her hit "Everything's gonna be alright" that features great lyrics set to the Pachelbel Canon, the first track on the cd, "Don't go away", is just as good. Apparently the underlying classical music is taken from a Mahler symphony though I have not been able to verify this yet. The liner notes give credit to the symphony orchestras that perform and the choir but not to the name of the pieces from the repertoire from where they were taken. I enjoy classical music as much as pop and though I didn't like listening to the album the first time, it has grown on me. One drawback is that it is only 37:44 in length in just eleven tracks so you don't get much bang for the buck."
