Merlin, along with Guenevere and a small band of men and ponies, comes seeking Arthur in the cave where he has slept so long.
Arthur awakens and they begin the long journey home.
On the way, Arthur regains his memory and remembers Guenevere's betrayal. He flees into the woods where he sees her face in a pool by a babbling brook. She pledges her love to him, and he forgives her.
Arthur then learns that his agonizing memory was but the work of the cruel witch who has pursued him from birth.
Arthur and Guenevere are reunited in a joyful wedding.
