Synopsis

Album Description
"Her sound is velvet harmony, plaintive and lilting ? as close as a whisper, and just as compelling. She is a poet without paper, wrapping her sweetly confessional lyrics in this gorgeous voice that slides through the speakers and invites the listener in." The Gazette Newspaper. Likened to the musical styles of Shawn Colvin, Jewel, and Tori Amos, singer, songwriter, guitarist Suzanne Brindamour debuts this pop folk CD released on Splash Records. Its 11 tracks - all originals - are a result of an intense collaboration with numerous musicians on drums, bass, electric guitar, cello, piano, violin and flute. Brindamour combines these elements with her trademark vocals and acoustic guitar to form a unique and captivating sound. The sixth track, Dear Sevda , was featured in the soundtrack for the television series "Popstars" on the WB. This song is a powerful ballad, which tells of her correspondence with a Bosnian refugee. On Waiting in the Wings, the seventh track, Brindamour is accompanied by a lone piano as she examines the feelings of fear and regret that follow loss. If I Linger provides a contrast to Brindamour?s slower ballads with its playful beat, catchy hooks and rousing electric guitar.

(5 out of 5 stars)

"Suzanne Brindamour is one of those performers who, when you see them play locally, you can't believe how lucky you are to stumble on to them before they really hit it big. She has a beautiful voice, and her intelligent lyrics convey the strong emotion that flows through many of her songs. She doesn't shy away from serious issues. It would be hard to describe the way she manages to capture some of the subtler emotions and situations in her songs. Many performers make the mistake of using trite images and simple rhyming lyrics in their early years, but not Brindamour. It's a pleasure to listen to her both in person and on the CD. I don't think anyone who likes this style of music would be disappointed at getting this CD. She has a website on which you can get more background information about her, since there's not much background here. (http://users.erols.com/s.brindamour/)"
