"Wow! How could I have originally associated this guy with "glitch by numbers" generic clickhouse? This is absolutely wonderful! Sutekh trades in seriously innovative electronica with lots of bells and whistles. The textures are incredibly varied, and surprises lie around every corner. This music manages to constantly change without losing a sense of groove. And oh, what grooves! Rhythmically, what sets Sutekh apart from his IDM/glitch/clicks&cuts associates is an obvious feel for the beat and arrangement strategies of the house/techno vanguard. This is no second-hand tongue in cheek... take on the perceived conventions of the dance music underground. Sutekh is too savvy to waste his time scrambling last year's shadow while the beat scientists are already light years ahead. He'd rather innovate from the inside with seriously bumping beats and a warm melodic shimmer. This continuously mixed cd covers swinging tech-house, divebombing two-step, bleeping techno, and abstract ambience. Don't expect coventional takes on any of those genres: all manner of scrapes, pops, doppler effect swoops, rattles, watery rushes, and expanding tones make every second vital. As an electronic musician, it seems that more happens in 20 seconds here than in many of my whole compositions, all in the service of uncluttered motion. This is Sutekh's second release for 2002(the other being the more abrasive and abstract "Fell", with it's amazing use of found-sounds), and both are in my top five for the year! Don't miss out!"
