"Surel is a very unique artist compared to the rest of the Gospel Music scene. She has vocal stylings very similar to Erykah Badu however, she stays completely unique at the same time. If you take a listen, you'll see what I mean. Her music speaks on real life issues from a Gospel perspective: love between husband and wife, saying goodbye to your past, and she even has a song speaking on children being raised in single parent homes! With Tonex producing 4 of the tracks here, this makes for a well rounded project. If you like Jazz Neo Soul, (Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, Angie Stone) You'll love Surel. This is Gospel Music at it's best. I'll be having this in my iPod playlist for quite some time."
To tell the truth...

"Ok I am going to be real. The cd is AVERAGE... I was really excited about listening to this cd but I found myself skipping a lot of the songs. It has some songs that you will like but it is better to take some songs off of it and make a mixed cd with some other songs you like from different cds. The focus of her cd is lifestyle and situations you go through and she does an OK job at it... not extremely good and not bad at all but OK!!!
I believe people that think her cd is great would appreciate Shei Atkins " life In Stereo' Much more."
A little erica badu and a touch jillscott equals surel

"Ok let me say that this cd will grow on you...it has some songs that really stand out that make it worth the purchase.
All the songs that are produced by Erine Green:
"MY VOW TO YOU"
"EYES"
"SAYING GOODBYE"
"DADDY'S LITTLE GIRL"
The rest of the cd is good but these among the best and are in constant repeat. the best song on the cd i loved and adored was "EYES".hey it was worth it just to hear this song. The cd has a more of a jill scott feel with a little of erica badu feel..good debut."
Much awaited for...

"I just purchased Surel's CD today and I must say that I am thoroughly pleased with the overall project. The CD encompasses so many elements of musical styles from the sweet music of the late 70's and early 80's to the neo-soul style with a jazz composite. The gospel and human relations component is portrayed on the CD and if you're looking for soothing, relaxing and even upbeat music, this is the CD to pick up. Most importantly Christ is most definitely represented . I look for so much more from Surel in the future!"
