CD Reviews

One of the few albums I have given a 5 star rating.

(5 out of 5 stars)

"These MCs from the Tidewater area have put together a great album. I still to this day don't understand why they have not blown up on a national level. I remember first getting into the Supafriendz crew with Mad Skillz first album "From Where?..." (which is another 5 star album). The lyrical ability is uncanny and under-appreciated by the rap community. Even the Intro to this album is tight. Consequences & Repercussions [Track 2] lays down some great lyrical skills over a great sample. (And don't worry...it's not a super sappy cheesy 80s sample). Fatal Attraction [Track 3] is just hilarious. It tells the tale of a guy who can't shake off a woman who's addicted. Friend Zone [Track 4] is a bit of remake of Biz Markie's "Just A friend". Very well done...I'm sure Biz is proud. M.O.N.E.Y. is OK....not too much to say about it...the beat is so-so...but the lyrics remain strong. Hot Hot [Track 7] is exactly that...strong beats...stronger lyrics. Cadi Man [Track 14] is ridiculous and absolutely bangin'. This is the type of track I love playing in my car in Ohio because no one here has heard it and they all wanna know what that bangin song is. Other STRONG hi-lights include Throw Dem Bows [Track 16], Let Me Find Out [Track 9], and Supa [Track 18]. I'm not sure if these guys will ever get the credit they deserve, but if they don't it won't be through any fault of their own. They've done their part."
