AMAZING ALBUM! THEY ARE BACK AND BETTER THAN EVER!!
Andrew L. Petty | woodstock, ga | 03/04/2008
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This album is so amazing! I have been a huge Mojo fan ever since "Snappin' Necks." They followed that up with "Pigwalk" which was an incredible album. Their biggest hit album "Rising" was released in 1998 and it finally landed this band a well deserved spot on the charts! This band has worked so hard and has produced some of the greatest metal albums in history. "Declaration of a Headhunter" followed "Rising" and it was easily the greatest metal album of 2000. Rich "The Duke" Ward's riff's and production gets better and better on each album.

Fast forward 8 years, 1 extended hiatus, 1 breif re-formation, 1 more break up, and finally the addition of the larger than life new lead vocalist Lord Nelson, Stuck Mojo has produced it's finest album to date... "Southern Born Killers." This album is easily one of the best hard rock/metal albums of all time. The riffs are brutal and the melodies are intense and very memorable. "I'm American" starts off the album right with it's double bass drums and rapid firing guitar riffs. Followed up by the funky "Southern Born Killers" showing off Lord Nelson's flashy and fresh lyrics. "Metal is Dead" will melt your face and clearly shows that this band can easily hang with ANY metal band out there today, if fact they will STILL blow any of those bands off the stage! Try them, I dare you! "The Sky is Falling" follows up "M.I.D." with some fantastic melodies and showcases guitarist Rich Ward's singing abilities. Then we are treated to the epic "Open Season" which has recieved so much hype overseas and on YouTube. This single has got to be one the best songs Mojo has ever written. Seeing the band play this song live is one of the greatest things I've ever seen! This song has so much energy and has such a great message to it! The band's stance against terrorism shows VERY clear on "Open Season," and they let the world know that they aren't gonna take any acts of terrorism lightly. "That's When I Burn" picks up where "Metal is Dead" leaves off and also gives us some great lyrics from Lord Nelson and some great guitar riffage. "Yoko" is more of a free form jam, which is something a little different for the band, but I think it is a great addition to this album! There is some great guitar and bass work on this song! "Home" is probably the most radio friendly track on the album. Don't let that give you the wrong idea however! "Home" will blow you away with some outstanding guitar work, more of Lord Nelson's powerful lyrics, and a wonderful and memorable chorus!

The bonus tracks are such a great addition to this album! "Go" is such a strong track and has some VERY in-your-face guitar work and double bass work. "Go" is truely going to be a mosh-pit anthem for this band. Then we come to the very original and very creative "Fear is All Around Me." This track blows me away! Such a clever track! It truely shows the song writing ability that this band has, and I would say it picks up where "Open Season" leaves off. Finally, we come to the new anthem for Stuck Mojo..."This Is How We Swing"!! When I said "Home" was the most radio friendly, I take that back... This song wins that title! This track is so powerful and has such an awesome chorus and such great guitar work! I would have to say that this song will soon take over as Stuck Mojo's new anthem, which will have formally been "Southern Pride."

Bottom line... Buy this album! It will change your life! It is flawless! Most bands cannot survive a lead singer transplant. But this band has survived the transplant, and in fact, it has made them the band that they always should have been! I cannot say enough about Stuck Mojo. Buy the album and support a band that is the true definition of a band that has been to the school of hard knocks and is still blowing all their competition off the stage one by one. Many have tried, none have survived!"
Back with few things to say!

"I love these guys, man can they can groove like no other! The tunes are awesome as are the lyrics *lol*. Seriously, it's political uncorrectness if that's a word at it's best. You have to love the way they get their point across. It's got some truth to it I'll give it that and it's a great conversation starter!

Great tunes, great lyrics, great production, great cd!

Their back and their as nasty as ever.

Check it out!!"
