"This is my first disc by stryker slagle. it won't be my last.

joe lovano is on four of the tracks as a special guest.

i like contemporary jazz and hard bop. i've listened to some of the best, but am always searching out new artists or at least artists i myself, have not yet heard.

on this disc, the title track is a great tune, brighter day is another, stikology is good,

but i especially like two four teo. classic hard bop sound. i play it at least two or three times in a row when i play this disc. lovano plays on this one with slagle.

should be a hard bop classic one day.

kindred spirits is a little different in that it has a really nice acoustic rhythm guitar with sax. slagle hits the flute on fingers in the wind along with more of stryker's acoustic guitar work.

i wish i was a jazz columnist or something and write a really moving review, all i can say is this is a great band, this is a great disc. buy it before somone else does and you'll have to pay double or triple for it. i am going to see what else these guys have on disc and get it before you do."
