Excellent Music - Fine Performance - Neglected Composer

"I discovered Kalliwoda a number of years ago with a CD of two of his symphonies. The music is romantic period, somewhat like a cross of Schubert and Mendelssohn. They were so pleasant, I've kept my eyes open for other pieces by him.

These 3 Quartets are really enjoyable. The more I've listened, the more pleasurable they've become. The last movement of the third quartet could easily have been written by Paganini. It is virtuosic music and totally delightful."
