CD Reviews

Amazing, and then Stress became Inqbator
O. J. Dean | Texas, USA | 01/08/2006
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This is a perfect CD, and I've owned it for many years and I'm finally getting around to share it with others (in the form of this review). First, it somehow has a sense of freedom, and the musicianship, production, and lyricism are all fantastic. It came out around the time that "eccentric" Black rockers could start seeing some decent deals (Thanks, Prince) without having to count on major radio airplay and their contemporaries would be bands like Lenny Kravitz, 24-7 Spyz, King's X, Defunkt, The Veldt, Terence Trent D'Arby, and Basehead. Stress was more psychedelic and Beatlesque in their lyrics and the melodies of the songs, which could easily stay in people's minds. My copy is a limited edition that has a "mood cover" that changes colors from the heat in your fingers as you handle the CD cover. Every song is incredible, but my standouts are "Flowers In The Rain" and "Rosechild".

Overall, this is an excellent CD, from a band that didn't leave us with enough of their music. Fortunately, Wayne Binitie and Stress were able to record another CD after changing the name of the band to Inqbator (titled "Hatched", which you should go out and find...now). 5 stars.

If anyone knows about recordings of Wayne Binitie after Inqbator, please advise."

My freshman year at college

"My roomate found this cd at the dollar store. It blew us away when he spun it. Every song was good. I would highly recommend this album to anyone who was starting college in the early 90's or wants to hear something original instead of the corporate MTV band clones out today."
