CD ReviewsI love Walter Boeykens Donald G. Hite III | Houston, Tx USA | 01/08/2003 (5 out of 5 stars) "Walter Boeykens is a phenomenal clarinetist! I love all of this recordings, and this one is no exceptions. This clarinet music is actually very "odd" (you might say), but it's really worth listening to. I actually ordered it because I heard Sabine Meyer in concert and she did almost the exact program (she did Soldat, Contrasts, and 4 Pieces, by Berg). The music was a little difficult to take in just one hearing, but it had potential, so I got a recording, and after a couple listenings the songs are really nice. Boeyken's version of "Three Pieces" is really well done.Boeykens' tone has always struck me as being particularly beautiful. It's perfect focused and not to bright. In addition to this flawless technique, he just makes every single note beautiful. I highly recommend this recording!"
