Stook!, whose real name is Joshua Stuckey, was born and raised in Indiana but moved to the Twin Cities a few years back to pursue a career in music. After a very short and uneventful run as a sideman, he decided to write and record his own album. Over the course of several months, he somehow convinced several of the best and brightest young musicians in town to come to his basement and help him record that very record. The release of The Soundtrack to My Minneapolis in 2006 was greeted extremely well locally and garnered national acclaim among the Americana circuit. Stook's second record, When the Needle Hit the Wax, was released on Draw Fire Records in October of 2007.
