CD Reviews

Roach at his quietest
David A. Beamer | Clawson, MI United States | 09/28/2001

"The title is apt. While some of his other ambient work can be a little unsettling (e.g. "The Magnificent Void", to say nothing of his work featuring Austrailian aboriginal percussion -- ugh), this one is pure tranquility. If you let it in, it will have you floating on air.(I make a point of taking this CD with me whenever I go to see my massage therapist -- it makes excellent background music for a good rubdown, and then listening to it later brings back a little of that ultra-relaxed feeling one gets with a good massage...)"
One of the greatest space music albums ever recorded...

"If you are someone who loves ambient music, the kind of drifting synth washes and layers that flow into your subconscious softly while reading, writing, watching a sunset with your headphones on, this is the CD for you. Although Roach in the past 5 years or so has strayed from his original space music origins, you can re-live one of his best works (along with Structures From Silence) with these uplifting and relaxing pieces. This is deep space at its best..."
A Knockout!

"Can't sleep? Before you go to bed, set your stereo to sleep mode and play this disc at low volume. I guarantee you won't be awake to hear the whole disc! My favorite is A Few More Moments, however the rest of the disc is excellent. Unfortunately I do not remember much of Air and Light or Dreaming and Sleep, the last two tracks, since the songs are so mellow that I am conked out by the time these play!If you like light, airy music, this is the disc for you!"
