Steve Kimock is much more than just a flashy lead guitar man. He is a legitimate composer who knows how to write an actual 15-20 minute guitar concerto, without repeating himself more than is absolutely necessary to establish a melody. Be forewarned that not many of these songs jump right out of the starting block with blazing speed and catchy intros. You have to sit back and let the songs run their course before they really start building up. But all of this is a good thing, because the songs do in fact build up to ultra-dramatic highs that can only be created through contrasts of hushed dynamics and high peaks. Steve Kimock's other live CD, Live in Colorado, might even be better. You might have to go to the actual band's website to get it."
