Was That Hope Blind?

"Together with Blumfeld and Tocotronic, Die Sterne belong to the so called "Hamburger Schule", and like them they have lyrics which certainly can be compared to great modern German poetrist. I am of the opinion that you could buy this CD just for the line "You ask yourself/ Was that hope blind?/ Seing the morning only and not the gray", but even without the lyrics this is certainly one of the greatest German records in the last decade if not of all times. Unlike Tocotronic, who believe more in LoFi-Guitar-Grunge, Die Sterne make music you can actually dance to, and they make it good. Frank Spilker et aliis know how to make a beautiful melody with a good rhythm... and by the way, for everybody who can speak German, the last five minutes of this CD could belong to the funniest dialogues ever recorded on an album..."
